From First Call to Caregiver: Here's What to Expect

You don’t need to know industry terms or have a care plan figured out. Here’s how the process works once you get in touch:

A 15-Minute Conversation

Most of our calls come from adult children helping a parent, and our intake coordinator is built for exactly that conversation. She’ll walk through your situation, answer your questions, and help you understand what kind of support makes the most sense. No pressure, no obligations.

Paperwork by Email

If you’d like to move forward, we send digital documents for review and signature. Nearly everything is handled electronically.

In-Home Nurse Assessment

A registered nurse visits your loved one’s home for a thorough, approximately one-hour evaluation. The nurse assesses care needs, checks the home environment for safety concerns like fall hazards, and builds a clear picture of what’s needed. This visit is typically scheduled the same day you call and completed within 24 hours.

Caregiver Matching

Based on the nurse’s assessment, we match your loved one with a caregiver selected for skill set, proximity, availability, and personality. We don’t just send the next person on the list. We look for someone who’s a genuine fit.

Care Begins

Most families go from first phone call to active care within 48 hours to one week, depending on the complexity of the schedule.

Why Families Choose Seniors Helping Seniors

01

Low turnover, consistent faces

The home care industry averages 68% to 80% annual caregiver turnover. Ours is well below half that. Your loved one gets to know their caregiver, and that consistency matters.

02

Caregivers who relate to your loved one

Our caregivers are experienced, mature adults who share the same generational background as the people they care for. The connection is real, not rehearsed.

03

Contracted with the VA, Medicare Advantage, and PACE

Only a small percentage of agencies hold even one of these contracts. We hold all three, and eligible clients may pay zero out of pocket.

04

Background-screened through the state

Every caregiver passes Level 2 background screening through Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse before they ever step into a client’s home.
