Most families call when something changes or starts to feel unsafe. Getting support in place early prevents bigger issues like falls, missed medications, or care that becomes inconsistent week to week. Seniors Helping Seniors® provides non-medical in-home care for older adults in Siesta Key and the surrounding Sarasota area. This is part of a broader home care plan designed to help older adults remain safely independent at home. Our caregivers are experienced, mature adults who bring genuine understanding to every visit, and we focus on assigning consistent caregivers so your loved one sees the same familiar faces week after week.
Many Siesta Key families come to us with adult children who live out of state, or with parents who split time between Florida and a home up north. Both situations make consistent, reliable care in the home especially important.

Contact and Intake Call
Call us or reach out online. Our intake coordinator spends about 15 minutes learning about your situation, answering your questions, and helping determine whether home care is the right next step.
Complete the paperwork
Documents are sent digitally for convenience, but can always be handled in person if that works better.
In-home nurse assessment
A registered nurse visits the home for about an hour to assess care needs and review safety. This typically happens within 24 to 48 hours of your first call.
Caregiver matching
The care team selects caregivers based on skill set, availability, proximity, and personality fit.
Care begins
Simple schedules can start within a couple of days. More comprehensive arrangements may take up to a week to coordinate.

Most families pay privately, but eligible veterans and those with certain Medicare Advantage or PACE plans may have coverage options at zero out-of-pocket cost.
Eligible veterans receive services at zero out-of-pocket cost. The VA authorizes weekly hours based on individual need.
Qualifying plan members may receive covered care at no cost, based on a plan-authorized number of weekly hours.
Individuals enrolled in PACE receive services at no out-of-pocket cost, within their authorized weekly hours.
Private pay clients are billed every other week for the previous two weeks of service. There is no upfront payment required. Care starts before any bill is sent.
Reliable home care comes down to consistency. It means the same caregiver showing up, understanding routines, and providing stable, predictable support. When care is inconsistent, families deal with repeated retraining, disrupted routines, and increased safety risk. We focus on continuity by assigning consistent caregivers and actively tracking that consistency over time, so your loved one is cared for by someone who knows them, not a revolving door of new faces.
Our caregivers are experienced, mature adults who share generational and cultural common ground with the people they serve, which helps the relationship feel genuine from the first visit forward.
Seniors Helping Seniors® was co-founded in 1998 by Kiran and Philip Yocom. The organization grew from Kiran’s 14 years working alongside Mother Teresa, and the belief that care is most meaningful when it comes from someone who truly understands what you are going through.
The Suncoast operation is locally owned by Andy Malivuk, a nine-year Seniors Helping Seniors® owner who ranks among the top franchise owners nationally. His motivation is personal: his grandmother and mother both struggled with home health agencies, and his own grandfather was his first employee.
Each Seniors Helping Seniors® office is independently owned and operated. Seniors Helping Seniors® is a registered trademark of Corporate Mutual Resources Incorporated.
Most families have care in place within 48 hours to one week of their initial call. A registered nurse typically visits the home within 24 to 48 hours to complete the assessment, and caregiver matching follows immediately after. Simpler schedules come together faster than complex 24/7 arrangements, but the process is designed to move quickly regardless.
Contract terms depend on the type and scope of care needed. We recommend calling us at 941-877-1000 to talk through your specific situation. Our intake coordinator can explain what to expect, including any scheduling minimums and how much flexibility you have as circumstances change over time.
We offer a full range of non-medical in-home care, including homemaker services, personal care, companion care, dementia support services, fall prevention, and care for veterans. Services are available from as few as 6 hours per week up to 24/7 continuous care with rotating caregivers.
Yes. Many of our clients are seasonal residents, and we frequently set up care for the months they are in Florida. Schedules can be paused or scaled up depending on when your parent is here. Once your parent is established as a client, restarting care for the next season is straightforward.
Yes. Every caregiver completes Level 2 background screening through Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse before providing any care. This is the most thorough level of screening the state offers.
We will make a change promptly. Our goal is long-term consistency, not forcing a pairing that does not work. We listen to your feedback, adjust the care plan if needed, and find a caregiver who is a better match. Because we focus on continuity and compatibility from the start, match changes are uncommon, but when they happen we handle them quickly.
